X(yz+1): Getting older may add a few wrinkles, gray hairs, and reasons to take it a little easier – but it doesn’t have to take away our drive. “My Age Won’t Slow Me Down” is a celebration of staying active, curious, grateful, and just stubborn enough to keep moving forward. The years may keep coming, but there’s still plenty of road ahead.

MY AGE WON’T SLOW ME DOWN:

Woke up this morning, feet hit the floor
Seventy-plus, but I’m wanting more
Got a little gray and a few more lines
But there’s still plenty of fire in this heart of mine

I don’t need to run like I did at twenty-five
I just need a reason to feel alive
Every road I’ve walked, every hill I’ve climbed
Put a little more steel in this heart of mine

The years can count the candles
They can mark another round
But they don’t get to tell me
When to quit or settle down

My age won’t slow me down
I ain’t done turning this thing around
I’ve got miles to go, I’ve got songs to sing
Still got a little fight in everything
Let the clock keep ticking
Let the years roll on
I’m gonna keep moving
Till the moving’s gone
My age won’t slow me down!
No, my age won’t slow me down!

I’ll take the stairs if my knees agree
Take a long walk underneath the trees
I’ll lift a little iron, stretch a little more
Then I’ll laugh at the things I couldn’t do before

I know when to push and I know when to rest
I don’t have to prove I’m still the best
I’m not chasing youth, I’m enjoying the ride
I’ve got experience walking right by my side

The years can count the candles
They can mark another round
But they don’t get to tell me
When to quit or settle down

My age won’t slow me down
I ain’t done turning this thing around
I’ve got miles to go, I’ve got songs to sing
Still got a little fight in everything
Let the clock keep ticking
Let the years roll on
I’m gonna keep moving
Till the moving’s gone
My age won’t slow me down!
No, my age won’t slow me down!

I’ve earned every scar
I’ve earned every gray
I’ve learned that tomorrow
Isn’t promised anyway
So I’ll wake up grateful
I’ll step outside
Put a little wind behind me
And enjoy the ride

One more morning!
One more mile!
One more reason
To crack a smile!
The number’s just a number
And the road is still wide
So turn that music up
I’m taking this ride!

My age won’t slow me down
I ain’t done turning this thing around
I’ve got miles to go, I’ve got songs to sing
Still got a little fight in everything
Let the clock keep ticking
Let the years roll on
I’m gonna keep moving
Till the moving’s gone

My age won’t slow me down!
You better believe it now!
My age won’t slow me down!
I’m still here—and I’m still loud!

Seventy-plus and feeling alive
Still got a fire that’s ready to drive
The years may follow wherever I go
But my age won’t slow me down!
No way
My age won’t slow me down!
