When decline happens slowly, people adapt to it without realizing it. Standards fall, expectations
shrink, and failure becomes normal. If things are only slightly less bad than expected,
it’s mistaken for success instead of recognized as the warning sign it truly is.

X(yz+1): The world has literally gone mad. People are being voted into positions of power that I wouldn’t trust to pet-sit my dog if I had one. Their faithful constituents look to them for guidance on how to live their lives, which sadly appears to be completely different from the life their leaders live. Take carbon footprints for example. I don’t get it…
