You got a pocket full of reasons, and a suitcase full of blame.
Every time the walls come tumblin’ down, there’s somebody else to name.

X(yz+1): Everybody’s got a story, but some people have an excuse for everything. Paper Thin Alibis takes aim at the blame game, where accountability disappears behind a mountain of excuses. It’s a hard-driving Southern rock reminder that you can fool the world, rewrite your history, and point fingers all day long… but the truth never needs an alibi.

PAPER THIN ALIBIS:

You got a pocket full of reasons,
And a suitcase full of blame.
Every time the walls come tumblin’ down,
There’s somebody else to name.
You got a story for the morning,
Another one by night.
You can twist the facts a thousand ways,
But that don’t make ’em right.

You built yourself a house of cards,
And called it solid ground.
But when the winds of truth came blowin’,
That whole damn thing fell down!

Paper thin alibis!
You can run, but you can’t hide!
You can paint a lie in a thousand colors,
But the truth still bleeds right through!
Paper thin alibis!
Another day, another disguise!
You can fool the world with your pretty little stories,
But the mirror knows the truth about you!

You said the road was always crooked,
You said the cards were never fair.
You blamed the rain for every flood,
And the wind for every prayer.
You had a thousand opportunities,
But you watched ’em pass you by.
Now you’re standing in the wreckage,
With another reason why.

You keep pointing out the guilty,
But there’s something you don’t see.
When you’re looking for the villain,
Check the face in front of thee!

Now everybody’s got a story,
Everybody’s got a scar.
Everybody’s lost a battle,
Everybody’s fallen hard.

But there’s a difference between falling,
And refusing to get up.
Between the man who owns his failures,
And the man who blames his luck.

You can curse the road behind you,
You can curse the mountain high.
But you ain’t ever gonna climb it,
With another damn alibi!

Paper thin alibis!
You can run, but you can’t hide!
You can paint a lie in a thousand colors,
But the truth still bleeds right through!
Paper thin alibis!
Time to throw away that disguise!
You can spend your life explaining why you couldn’t,
Or stand up and give it one more try!

No more reasons!
No more lies!
No more hiding behind those alibis!

The truth don’t need an alibi.
