X(yz+1): I’ll shake the dust off my boots, let yesterday go. I can’t change where I’ve been, but I can choose where I go. Same name, same scars, I’m finally starting to know… You don’t have to start all over, you just have to start to grow…

MY LIFE 2.0:

I’ve spent some years looking backward
At roads I should’ve never gone down
Carried old mistakes like a suitcase
Like I owed it to myself to drag ’em around

I’ve worn out more than a few excuses
I’ve let some good years come and go
But the past ain’t asking for permission
To become the man I already know

I ain’t starting over
I’m starting from right here
Got some miles behind me
Got a little less to fear

Shake the dust off my boots
Let yesterday go
I can’t change where I’ve been
But I can choose where I go
Same name, same scars
But there’s something I know
I’m still a work in progress
Call it my life 2.0

I spent too much time seeking approval
Trying to be what somebody else might need
Learning late that chasing acceptance
Is a race where nobody takes the lead

So I’m keeping the lessons worth keeping
Leaving the rest beside the road
I don’t need to hate the man I used to be
He carried me farther than he knows

I ain’t starting over
I’m building from right here
A little more forgiving
A little more sincere

Shake the dust off my boots
Let yesterday go
I can’t change where I’ve been
But I can choose where I go
Same name, same scars
But there’s something I know
I’m still a work in progress
Call it my life 2.0

I don’t need another lifetime
I don’t need another chance
I just need the road that’s left me
And the nerve to take a stand

There ain’t no perfect version
Waiting somewhere down the line
Just a man who wakes up every morning
Trying to leave yesterday behind

Got more miles behind me
Than I’ll ever have ahead
But I ain’t counting what’s been traveled
I’m looking down the road instead

There’s still a few things worth discovering
Still a few things I don’t know
And maybe getting better
Is just refusing to stop and grow

So I’ll shake the dust off my boots
Let yesterday go
I can’t change where I’ve been
But I can choose where I go
Same name, same scars
And I’m finally starting to know
You don’t have to start all over
You just have to start to grow

Shake the dust off my boots
There’s still road left to go
I’m still a work in progress
Call it my life 2.0

Still got things I’m working on
Still got places I want to go
Tomorrow gets a better me

My life 2.0…
