While my wife and Mike’s girlfriend were busy hitting a few of Newport’s shops, Mike and I figured there was no sense standing around holding shopping bags. The Harleys were right there, the sun was shining, and the streets were practically begging for a little noise.
So we fired them up and took a leisurely blast through town and along the waterfront, enjoying the salt air, the scenery, and that unmistakable rumble bouncing off the old buildings. No destination, no schedule—just two friends, two bikes, and a little time to kill. We eventually circled back to meet the ladies for lunch, both of us wearing the kind of grin that made it pretty obvious we’d found our own version of shopping.
